RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON & GATECON 2008
Legends Memorabilia is delighted to announce that RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON and CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON of The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society will be joining us at Gatecon 2008 in Vancouver!
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society ("SSCS") is an organization committed to protecting the world’s oceans and eco systems and was founded by Paul Watson (who was also one of the founders of Greenpeace.) In the words of Canadian author Farley Mowat, “Paul is recognized as the world's most aggressive, most determined, most active and most effective defender of wildlife!" Having met Paul on several occasions, we can confirm that he is indeed an extraordinary person with an extremely captivating personality.
Richard Dean Anderson is one of the Sea Shepherd Trustees and is himself very committed to the SSCS cause. As Legends Memorabilia operates a charity fund raising project for SSCS with Richard, we have decided to extend our activities by bringing Richard and Paul to the Gatecon 2008 event. We are currently working on the finer details of the plans but can tell you that we haven't finished yet! There will be other very special guests joining us at Gatecon so mark August 21-24, 2008 on your calendar, this is an event you won't want to miss!
NEW STARGATE PROPS & COSTUME AUCTION IS NOW OPEN
As we announced last month, we have completed the installation of our new auction software here on stargateprops.com and the Stargate auction is now well under way. There have been many great items sold in the past 3 weeks and we congratulate all of the winning bidders. We would also like to thank all of you who have registered as bidders on our site and we are extremely pleased to see how many of you have joined us. Judging by the correspondence we have been receiving, you are clearly pleased with the auction site and we thank you for your compliments.
Over the next couple of weeks we shall be releasing
a nice selection of Stargate items never seen
before - including some interesting things from
the closed studio sets. Last week we were invited
to help salvage some of the set decoration used
in the Goa'uld Mothership and
Ori sets. Although it was sad
to see these magnificent sets come down, we
are grateful we had the opportunity to be there
to save some of the more interesting pieces.
Be sure to keep checking the auction and catalogue
sites as these items will start to show up this
week.

NEW EUROPEAN MARKETING AGREEMENT ANNOUNCED
Legends Memorabilia is pleased to announce that we have entered into a new strategic alliance with LEGENDARY EVENTS LTD. Operated by Richard Pasco, better known as one of the Gatecon organizing team, Legendary Events will be representing Legends Memorabilia and Stargateprops for the distribution of our products in Europe. Richard will be attending various conventions and fan events, so be sure to keep an eye for him at the various shows. Full contact details for Legendary Events Ltd. will be listed here this week.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU
As we move into our new phase with Legendary
Events, we would be remiss if we did not take
a moment to recognize those people who have
been instrumental in helping us throughout our
growth years - in particular our Stargate phase.
So a special 'Thank you' to Sally Allan who
has done a tremendous job in helping us out
and representing us in Europe for the past two
or three years. Sally is still there offering
her assistance whenever possible. Special thanks
also to Becky, Kaz and Gene for your help too.
There are many others that also need recognition
but you all know who you are and you all know
how grateful we are for your help.
'THE ART OF STARGATE' BOOK BY JAMES ROBBINS
For those of you that have been enquiring about the James Robbins 'Art of Stargate' book, we are still awaiting details from MGM before we can move into the publication phase. Hopefully we will have an announcement here very soon.
