'EYE OF RA STONE'
EPISODE USED/WORN IN:
The magnificent Eye of Ra was first introduced in the season 6 episode titled ‘Full Circle’. In an ancient temple, we see an ‘ascended’ Daniel show Carter and Jonas the all imported secret chamber where the two of them seek out and find the all important artifact. SG-1 may have found the ‘Eye’ before Anubis, but he wasn’t going to let them leave the planet with it. In exchange for their freedom, Jack has no alternative but to offer the ‘Eye’ to Anubis knowing that this is the last piece to the set that will ultimately allow the System Lord to control an indefensible ‘super’ weapon.
In the season 7 episodes ‘Fallen & Homecoming’, Jonas Quinn wants SG-1 to explore an offworld planet that he believes may be the 'lost world' where they hope to find an equalizing weapon that will allow them to finally destroy Anubis. When they realize that the planet is not the mysterious lost world nor does it have the weapon they were looking for, SG-1 return to Earth. Subsequently, Anubis plans an attack on Earth and, with the help of the Tok’ra, SG-1 locate a weakness in the Anubis ship – a ventilation shaft for the super weapon! The ‘Eye of Ra’ is believed destroyed when the power core of Anubis’s super weapon overloads and explodes.
This prop is the ‘floating’ amber like resin centre stone which has the spectacular ‘Eye of Ra’ imbedded in it. Measuring 3.75 inches round, the large sunken ‘Eye’ is outlined in gold and has been beautifully painted in green, turquoise, blue and amber colour tones. Although this prop is not complete, the acquisition of it would certainly highlight any Stargate SG-1 collection.
