This auction item is without question one of the most unique and highly collectible items we have offered so far. It is an amazing replica of the Stargate Death Glider which has been reproduced in extraordinary detail. This fantastic model was created by Legends Memorabilia to be included in our Stargate licensed products series. However, as we have elected not to renew our manufacturing license, this product was never produced and never came to the market. This developmental finished prototype is now being offered in this sale.

Now for some background into how this was engineered:

When we wanted to develop this item, we discovered that there was no actual reference model available from the studio. We then worked with Rainmaker (who created the special effects for Stargate) and they provided us with various software renditions of the glider from their archives. Armed with the basic drawings, we then engaged the services of an engineering company in Germany who undertook the project for us. This company allocated approximately 70 hours of software development to obtain the precise details that was required for the engineering side of the project.

The final software was then programmed into an ultra high quality CNC machine which then created the model through an engineering process that took an astonishing 120 hours and literally millions of engraving cuts. The precision and fine detail were achieved with a cutting tool so fine that it is the approximate thickness of a human hair.

The wing cannons were also engineered with ultra fine detail as can be seen in the images below. (although the pictures are good, they don't do justice to the final item!) Following our receipt of this 'master', we then created the mold to make the replicas. It was at this point that we decided not to proceed with the Stargate licensing project which therefore shelved the project.

The dimension of the glider are as follows:

Wing tip to wing tip: 11.5"
Front to back (at longest point): 5"
Depth (at deepest point): 1.75"
Wing cannon length: 3".

This collectible will come to the winning bidder in a metal storage case with foam rubber inserts to protect the model. The outside of the case has a laser etched silver and black Stargate SGC logo. The case measures 13.5" x 11.5" x 3.75".
