'FACE HUGGER'

Here is one of the real highlight items in this auction sale. It is the actual original 'Face Hugger' device that was featured in the Season 2 episode "The Fifth Race". In this episode, this device is mounted on a wall and Jack O'Neill peers into it. Upon doing so, it activated and a mechanism comes out and grasps his face and head. This prop is a static device (no moving parts) as the movement/action seen on screen was created by special effects. The 'Face Hugger' is made from a hard polycarbonate/resin compound and is very durable. It has a large mounting cone on the rear of the unit which was used to insert it into a wall, thereby creating a 'flush' appearance. It has been painted in brilliant shades of green and gold with some black in the centre. The prop itself measures approximately 31" in diameter and is approximately 2.5" deep. The rear mounting cone has a depth of 10" and is 12" in diameter. (Note: If the mounting cone is not required for inserting into a wall, it could be cut off and then the unit could be flush mounted on the surface of the wall).
